CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll

Atlantic 10 Volleyball
The University of Dayton volleyball team will head into this weekend's Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship as the No. 16 ranked team in the CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll for the second week in row after the latest rankings were released on Monday.

The Flyers increased their number of votes for the fourth straight week including a move from 535 last week to 561 on Monday, but remained at No. 16 in the Poll. UD has the best record in the nation at 28-1 overall and had the best start in modern school history with 21 consecutive wins to begin the season.

UD earned a school-record 749 votes while rising to an all-time high of No. 12 in the Oct. 15 Poll. The Flyers had increased the number of votes from zero in the Preseason Poll to 749 in the eighth ranking of the year. Overall, the Flyers have been ranked for 11 consecutive weeks and have picked up votes in 12 of 13 polls this season.

Dayton has recorded 3-0 sweeps in 15 of their last 20 matches and 19 times in 29 matches overall this season including nine of 13 in conference play. UD has also rebounded from a 1-2 deficit on four occasions this season to win in five games.

The Flyers will enter this weekend's A-10 Championship as the top seed for the fourth year in a row. UD had a 12-1 record in conference play to take home the 2007 A-10 West Division title, which was its fourth consecutive A-10 Regular Season Championship and sixth overall in program history.

The top-seeded Flyers will play their first match at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship in Saturday's Semifinal Round at 5 p.m. ET against the lowest seeded winner from Friday's Opening Round. Every match of the A-10 Championships will feature Live Video and Gametracker at www.atlantic10.org.
