<P><B>Oct. 24, 2005</B><P><B>PHILADELPHIA - </B> Freshman outside hitter <A HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/dayt/sports/w-volley/mtt/norris_kortney00.html" >Kortney Norris</a> was named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season Monday after leading Dayton to wins over La Salle and Temple. <P>Norris, who also garnered A-10 Weekly honors on Oct. 3 and 17, paced Dayton (15-9, 8-1 A-10) to a pair of wins and into the top spot in the A-10 overall standings with 3.64 points per game, 3.14 kills per game and 1.43 digs per game this past week. <P>She hit .318 with eight kills and six digs in a 3-0 win over La Salle on Friday. Norris was also key in Dayton's 3-2 come-from-behind win at Temple Saturday with 14 kills, two service aces, two blocks and four digs. <P>During Dayton's current 10-match winning streak, Norris is averaging 3.59 kills per game while hitting .226. Overall this season, the two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week is averaging 2.88 kills per game. <P>The Flyers return to action with a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference matches this week at Frericks Center. Dayton hosts Xavier Thursday at 7 p.m. in a meeting between the top two teams in the A-10 West Division. UD also takes on Rhode Island on Friday at 7 p.m. Dayton, the 2003 and 2004 Atlantic 10 Champions, would clinch a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament if it won its next two matches.
