TRACK & FIELD PREDICTED TO FINISH SECOND IN ATLANTIC 10 INDOOR SEASON

<P><B>Oct. 23, 2008</B> <P> <!-- LINKS TO RELATED PAGES BEGIN --> <!-- LINKS TO RELATED PAGES END --> <P><B>PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - </B> The University of Dayton track and field team has been selected to finish second in the Atlantic 10 during the indoor portion of the season according to voting by the league's head coaches. <P>The Flyers are coming off their most successful season in program history in 2007-08. Dayton finished a program-best second place in the Conference Indoor Championship and tied for second in the A-10 Outdoor Championship. At last year's Indoor Championship the Flyers posted 12 personal bests and received top-five finishes in 11 events finishing with 91 points. <P>Winners of three straight A-10 women's crowns, the Charlotte 49ers were picked to take the title once again. Charlotte earned 180 points a year ago, the second-highest total in the 15-year history of the Championship. <P>Five-time Champion Rhode Island was picked third, followed by Richmond, Temple, Massachusetts, La Salle, Saint Joseph's, Duquesne, Fordham, Saint Louis and Xavier. <P>UD lost only two seniors to graduation and will return a solid group this year including All-Conference selections <A HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/dayt/sports/w-track/mtt/zaccari_johnna00.html" >Johnna Zaccari</a>, <A HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/dayt/sports/w-track/mtt/allen_sarah00.html" >Sarah Allen</a>, <A HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/dayt/sports/w-track/mtt/kremer_amy00.html" >Amy Kremer</a>, and <A HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/dayt/sports/w-track/mtt/strickland_pembroke00.html" >Pembroke Strickland</a>. <P>The 2009 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track &amp; Field Championships will be held Feb. 20-21 at Mackal Field House on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. <P> <b>2009 Women's Indoor Track &amp; Field Predicted Order Of Finish </b><Br> <i>(2008 Championship results in parentheses)</i><br> 1.
