DAYTON FINISHES PLAY AT ROBERT MORRIS WITH 1-1 DEADLOCK

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -  The University of Dayton softball team ran out of sunlight Thursday and was forced to settle for a 1-1 tie at Robert Morris in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader at North Athletic Complex.

UD (6-6-1) has a three-game unbeaten streak heading into its Atlantic 10 Conference opener against Massachusetts this weekend. The Flyers will also be hosting their first ever game at UD Arena Softball Complex against the Minutewomen Saturday at 1 p.m.

Melissa Myher pitched 6.0 strong innings for Dayton but earned a no-decision after the game was called at the end of six complete innings due to darkness. Myher surrendered just one run on three hits and recorded one strikeout.

The Flyers had just three hits in the contest. Christine Eggers singled and scored in the third inning. She was driven in by an RBI single from Tami Roudebush. Cassie Gross also singled for Dayton.
