SOFTBALL TOPPED BY OHIO, 2-1

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team fell 2-1 to Ohio in non-conference action Wednesday at UD Softball Stadium. Tami Roudebush went one-for-three with an RBI double.

The Flyers fall to 17-29 on the season, which OU improves to 25-35. Mollie Schrank went two-for-four with two infield singles, Blair Crabtree went two-for-three with a run scored for the Flyers.

Dayton got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Mollie Schrank picked up her first of two infiled singles on the day, but was called out for interfering with the second basemen on Blair Crabtree's fielder's choice. Tamsyn Kellough singled to third base and then Roudebush doubled to right center to plate Crabtree.

In the top of the fourth, Kelly Rodriguez singled to right field, was sacrified to second and after Robin Miller walked, was part of a a double-steal. Alicia Catlette doubled to left center to score both runners and give OU a 2-1 lead.

Catlette went two-for-three with a pair of RBI for the Bobcats.

Natalie Armstrong (4-4) earned the win for Ohio, pitching three innings and allowing a run. She struckout two and walked one.

Candace Warden pitched the final four innings to earn her third save.

Melissa Myher scattered six hits and gave up two earned run to fall to 9-18. She struck out three and is now sitting at 397 career strikeouts (third all-time at UD).

Myher will go for number 400 on Saturday as UD plays host to Saint Louis in an Atlantic 10 doubleheader at noon. UD will honor Myher, Roudebush and Christina Vetter with Senior Day activities before the game.
