HINCKLEY, Ohio – Freshman Lucy Frey shot a first round 77 to lead the Dayton Flyers after the first round of the Cleveland State Invitational.

Frey, playing in just her second collegiate tournament, is in a tie for fifth among individuals.

As a team the Flyers shot a 327 and are in seventh out of 11 squads.

Senior Clara Ang had a solid showing shooting an 82 in round one. Ang is tied for 24th.

Meanwhile, sophomore Maggie Prokop is one shot behind and with an 83 in the first 18 holes of play. Prokop is tied for 27th.

Senior Heather Jorgensen, last week’s CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week, carded an 86, while sophomore Erin Peavy added a 90.

Playing as an individual, freshman Kelly Muskat also shot a 90.

Round two will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27 with a 9 a.m. ET a shotgun start.
