UD WOMEN PLACE 22ND AT ALL-OHIO
Oct. 8, 2004 DELAWARE, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished tenth out of 39 teams, and the women placed 22nd of 39 Friday at the 50th annual All-Ohio Championships, held on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. Brian Gilchrist (Novi, MI) paced the UD men with a time of 27.07.6, good enough for 35th place. Gilchrist was followed by freshman Billy Przbyla (Centerville, OH) who was 54th (27:33.7) , senior Brett Fisher (Strongsville, OH) who was 67th (25:53.0), freshman Mike Connolly (Strongsville, OH) was 67th (27:54.5), freshman Dan Sammons (Johnstown, OH) who was 96th (28:18.9), senior Zak Lewis (Loveland, OH) who was 136th (29:02.6) and sophomore Eric Contreras (Centerville, OH) who was 231st (32:33.7). For the women, senior Michelle Griffin (Lancaster, OH) was UD's first finisher, coming across the line 66th with a time of 19:58.7). Griffin was followed by teammates sophomore Lauren Fenske (Dublin, OH) who was 90th (20:17.2), sophomore Kiera Gottemoeller (Ft. Loramie, OH) in 97th (20:24.4), senior Ruth Hinde (Kettering, OH) in 127th (20:46.4), sophomore Tessa Mott (Columbus, OH) in 152nd place (21:19.9), freshman Emily Deet (Gibsonia, PA) in 161st (21:30.6) and sophomore Amanda Tucker (Dublin, OH) in 181st (21:58.1). UD's cross country teams will continue their season on Saturday, October 16 at the Pre-NCAA meet in Terre Haute, IN. |
