PHILADELPHIA - UD women's cross country freshman Amy Kempf was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after placing third at the Flyer 5K Challenge on Saturday.

The Flyers, with four runners in the top 11, finished second in their only home meet of the season, at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering.

Kempf posted a time of 19:05, seven seconds off the lead. Teammate, and fellow newcomer Dianne Striebel finisheed fifth with a time of 19:11. Jacqueline Jaworek finished in eighth place at 19:24, and Corey Fullenkamp came in 11th at 19:32. The Flyers' last scoring runner was Anne Oltman, who finished with 20:02 in 19th place.

Dayton finished with 46 points, seven back of Cincinnati, who also had four top 11 runners.

The Flyers' next race will be the National Catholic Invitational in South Bend, IN on Sept. 16.
