DAYTON, Ohio - Sophomore Maureen Bulgrin competed at the Cedarville Challenge on May 8 recording a new school record in the 5000 meter run for the second time this season. Bulgrin, who was looking to qualify for the upcoming NCAA MidEast Regional, was one second shy of the regional mark, but set new meet and track records at the event.

Bulgrin placed first in a time of 16:53.00 smashing the meet record (18:59.00) and the track record (17:41.73).

The Flyer sophomore has been a fierce competitor for the track and field team, as well as the cross country team all year long. She finished third in the 5000 meter at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship and was a member of the 4x800 relay team that set a new school record in 8:55.05. She also scored for UD in the 3000 meter at the A-10 Indoor Championship (10:03.54).

During the cross country season, Bulgrin was named the A-10 Performer of the Week three times and led the team in seven of eight races. She logged the 11th best time in UD history this past season (17:56) and was 10th overall at the Conference Cross Country Championships.
