WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COMPLETES FALCON INVITATIONAL

Bowling Green, OH - The University of Dayton women's cross country team fared well in the Bowling Green Invitational on Saturday, placing two runners in the top 30 and finishing seventh overall with 171 points. The squad was led for the second straight race by freshmen Liz Coorey and Brigitte Sherman, who each finished the 5K race in under 19 minutes. Coorey came in first for the second straight meet in a time of 18:39 to take 23rd overall, while Sherman took 27th place running at a clip of 18:44. Finishing next for the Flyers in 19:12 was junior Anne Oltman, who claimed 41st overall. She was closely followed by sophomore Kate Tejkl (45th overall), who turned in a 19:17 time. Two more sophomores would round out the scoring for Dayton, as Alex Miles crossed in 19:28 to take 54th and Kristin Terry (57th) finished right behind with a time of 19:34. Junior Sydney Hubbard (19:42, 65th overall) and sophomore Angela Conlon (19:52, 72nd overall) would take defensive positions for the squad, which displaced 11 Division I teams at the meet. Dayton will take to the course next at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday, October 27 in Philadelphia, PA. The conference meet is scheduled for a 10:00 AM start. |
