LOUISVILLE, KY - The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished 13th of 35 competing teams, while the women took 12th place out of a field of 24 at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic at Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday.

The women's team finished 12th overall led by freshman Maureen Bulgrin, who recorded the sixth-best personal record in Flyer history with her 18:15 finish (30th overall). Bulgrin has finished first for Dayton in each of the team's three meets thus far.

Coming across second and third for UD were two more freshmen, each establishing top-ten 5K personal bests as well.

Brigitte Sherman was second for the Flyers and posted the eighth best personal record in school history with her time of 18:35, good for 42nd overall at the meet. Liz Coorey posted the ninth best personal time in school history (18:41) en route to finishing 54th.

Finishing fourth, sophomore Kate Tejkl posted a personal-best time of 19:27 and junior Anne Oltman completed the scoring for Dayton coming across the line just two seconds later.

Coming in first for the men (35th overall) in a personal best time of 24:53 was freshman Matt Lemon, who broke his brother's freshman 8K record established just two weeks ago at the National Catholic Invite.

Freshman Chris Lemon crossed second for Dayton (45th overall) in a time of 25:04.

Following the Lemon twins were four Flyers, each establishing personal bests with their respective times.

Senior Billy Przybyla finished the course in 25:37 to take 77th overall. Fellow senior Daniel Sammons logged a time of 25:45 to finish 101st overal, while junior Tim Kaelin rounded out the scoring for the Flyers with a 141st place finish in 26:11.

The team average of the top five finishers for the Flyers was an impressive 25:33.

Although not part of the scoring, junior Tom Middleton posted a personal best as well with a 26:18 finish. Junior Matt Peters came in seventh for Dayton, recording a 26:30 time.

Two more personal bests were recorded by Dayton on the day. Sophomore Brad Boyd (26:37) and freshman Ryan Shirley (26:44) became the sixth and seventh Flyers to establish personal bests.

The Cross Country team will return to action October 5 at the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware, OH. The meet is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
