PHILADELPHIA, PA - Dayton senior middle blocker Faye Barhorst and redshirt sophomore teammate Erin Schroeder earned 2006 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Setter of the Year honors, respectively, in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches.

In that same vote, outside hitter Sammi McCloud of Saint Louis was tabbed Rookie of the Year and her coach Anne Kordes was named Coach of the Year. Additionally, Xavier senior outside hitter Danielle Skrajewski was named Student-Athlete of the Year for the second straight year in voting by the Conference's sports information directors.

Barhorst earns her second straight Player of the Year honor and is the fourth straight Flyer to garner the award. She enters the Atlantic 10 Championship as the league-leader in hitting percentage with a .446 clip, which also ranks second nationally, and blocks at 1.30 per game. A native of Fort Loramie, OH, the senior was twice named the A-10 Player of the Week this season and is a three-time All-Conference honoree after being named the 2003 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year. She is UD's all-time leader in three statistical categories and helped lead Dayton to the top-seed in this weekend's Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship.

Schroeder becomes the second straight setter from Dayton to earn Setter of the Year honors. The Cincinnati, OH, native averages 13.57 assists in league games to rank third in the Conference and 12.42 assists overall.
