Dayton wraps up the home portion of its regular season schedule with a pair of pivitol matches at Frericks Center this weekend against Atlantic 10 foes. UD faces Duquesne on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and takes on A-10 West Division co-leader Saint Louis on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET. Both matches can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.

Fans will be treated to special presentations at both matches this weekend. On Friday, the Dayton volleyball team will present the Greater Cincinnati affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with a check in excess of $3,000 for the money raised during UD's 'Dig for the Cure' campaign.

On Saturday, All Flyer Faithful who present a ticket from Saturday's MBB game versus Austin Peay (2 p.m. ET) will be admitted free of charge to the showdown for the top seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championships between Dayton and Saint Louis (5 p.m. ET). Also, before the start of the match, UD seniors Faye Barhorst and Margo Moeller will be honored as part of Senior Day ceremonies.

Leading into this weekend's Senior Day ceremony, DaytonFlyers.com sat down with Faye Barhorst and Margo Moeller as they reflected on their careers as Flyers.

DF.com: A lot has changed since you first arrived on campus as a freshman. Talk a bit about your career as a Flyer.
Faye Barhorst: Our arrival on campus our freshmen year was a rude awakening. We didn't know what to expect and had our work cut out for us since our program had never before won the Atlantic 10 Tournament or earned an NCAA berth. Fortunately, we walked in with a great group of leaders as well as a very passionate and dedicated coaching staff that was able to lead us to our first ever tournament title. Since then, it has become easier as we know what is expected of us in this program.
Margo Moeller: I totally agree in that a lot has changed within our program, but I would have to say overall the changes have been good. Every year we become more and more competitive and bring in better recruits. The level of volleyball that we are playing compared to my freshmen year is much higher, and the level of competition that we are playing against also is much higher than when I started here. Our goals keep getting higher and higher and as a team we hold each other accountable for reaching the goals that we set. Also I would like to say that every year things did get easier and easier, that once you understand coach's system and how he wants it done it becomes much easier. Every year I am amazed that I can make it through a preseason, and that I can do what he wants.

DF.com: You have been part of Atlantic 10 Championship teams each of the last three years. Does that surprise you? Did you expect that the team would be this successful?
Faye Barhorst: I am not at all surprised that we have won the Atlantic 10 Championship the past three years. I don't believe in luck or surprises. We've worked hard enough on the court, lifting, scouting, and recruiting to eliminate surprises. When you put that kind of time and effort into something you really want, you gain a certain level of confidence that begins to set you apart from everyone else.
Margo Moeller: The first year we knew we could do it, but we were unsure just because no one had done it before. There was a little bit of uneasiness about the tournament that year, but with coach's help he built us up, and gave us the confidence to win. After that I just expected to win it every year, we had done it once and we knew we had what it took to do it time and time again. For sure winning the A-10 tournament 3 times, maybe 4...is an unexplainable experience that I will never forget.

DF.com: What is your first memory from your freshman year?
Faye Barhorst: My first memory of my freshman year is when the five freshmen were walking to a practice after about four days of three-a-days, and I looked at my roommate at the time, Brenna Moses, and asked her when we were going to graduate, because I was going through the hardest physical and mental activity of my life!
Margo Moeller: My first memory besides the whole moving into my dorm, etc, etc...was just that first night trying to sleep, and thinking about how hard the next few months was going to be. It was an awful feeling not knowing what the first practice would bring, there was no one who could tell you what to expect, the seniors were new at this too. There are many memories from that first preseason that as a team we all re-live with each other everytime we see each other. The stories may be a little exaggerated, and they might not always be exactly the same but we all know how hard we worked that preseason, and we all went through it together...and that is what made us such a great team.

DF.com: What is your favorite memory in a Flyer uniform to this point?
Faye Barhorst: My favorite memory in a flyer uniform is definately our upset over Michigan State on their home floor my freshman year. We weren't favored to win, but in our first NCAA appearance were able to overcome adversity and create one of the biggest upsets in the tournament that year. That feeling is undescribable! We knew we had truly earned that win because of all the hard work and many rough days we had put in.
Margo Moeller: My favorite memory...that is a hard question. I would have to say the first time we won the A-10 Tournament, just because it was the first and we were so excited and proud that we had actually done it. All year we had worked for that win, and we did it together...we now had this new confidence in ourselves and especially coach. We knew now that this guy (Coach Horsmon) knew what he was talking about, and he knew how to win, all we had to do was follow his lead. It was a great feeling to see the seniors, they were so excited & happy, mostly because they knew they had it in them all along, they just needed the right coach to show them the way. However beating Michigan State @ Michigan State comes in a very close second.

DF.com: How do you feel the program has progressed since you first arrived?
Faye Barhorst: We have definately taken our program to new heights since 2003. Every year we have been able to improve our play which has also enabled us to get better and better recruits. We have also raised our goals every year, as we are continuously working for bigger and better things.
Margo Moeller: I talked about this a little before...I really think that we are playing better teams and we are recruiting better volleyball players every year. The coaches are teaching high skilled volleyball, techinques that all the highest levels of players are using.

DF.com: What do you want to accomplish before your career is complete?
Faye Barhorst: I want to take the program somewhere it's never been before. I want to leave Dayton and know that I've had an impact on the program and help start a legacy.
Margo Moeller: Before leaving the program, I would like to make it to the second weekend of the tournament, and really set the expectations of future teams higher than ever before. I also want to know that without putting on a uniform that I helped my team to the best of my ablities. That I was actually helpful in making the team the best they can be.
