DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton volleyball team reflected on its third straight Atlantic 10 Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament as part of its postseason awards banquet held at UD Arena's Time Warner Cable Flight Deck on Wednesday evening.

In 2005, UD earned its fifth consecutive 20-win season with a 24-11 overall record and became the just the fourth school ever to win three-straight Atlantic 10 Championships. The program also boasted the A-10 Player of the Year for the third straight season and its fourth AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honor in the last three years. The Flyers also won 19 consecutive matches at one point, which was the 11th longest winning streak in the nation this season and paved the way for UD's fourth-ever Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship.

Three individual awards were handed out on the night with senior Nicole Schott and junior Faye Barhorst being named White-Allen Most Valuable Players. Junior Margo Moeller was given the Dr. R. Elaine Driedame Coach's Award. Freshman Kortney Norris was tabbed as the team's most improved player and sophomore Robynne Green won the "Nails" award which is given to the player who plays with the most intensity.

Schott finished her career by being named the 2005 Atlantic 10 Setter of the Year while leading the Flyers to a 95-39 record during her four-year career. She is the only player in UD history to record both 1,000 assists and 1,000 digs and is one of just two ever with three consecutive 1,000-assist seasons. Schott ranks second all-time at Dayton with 4,617 career assists and eighth with 1,121 career digs. She paced the Flyers to one of their best ever seasons offensively with a school-record 1,604 assists which led Dayton to a program-best 2,143 team kills.
