VOLLEYBALL CLIPPED AT PEPPERDINE IN FIVE GAMES
Nov. 22, 2006 MALIBU, Cal. - A career-night by junior Jamie-Lee Richards nearly gave Dayton a win over #24 Pepperdine, but the homestanding Waves beat the Flyers, 3-2 (31-29, 30-22, 30-32, 22-30, 15-11) in non-conference volleyball action on Wednesday night. Richards posted a career-high six service aces while leading all players with 19 kills to go along with eight digs and four blocks. Dayton nearly overcame an 0-2 deficit in the match behind a season-high 17 service aces. Sophomore Nicole Bateman tallied her 17th double-double of the season with 16 kills, 19 digs, two service aces and two blocks. Junior Robynne Green finished with 14 kill, five blocks and three service aces while freshman Chauntay Mickens added 10 kills and two blocks. Two-time A-10 Player of the Year Faye Barhorst saw a stretch of 14 consecutive matches with 10 kills or more come to an end as she finished with nine kills and six blocks. A-10 Setter of the Year Erin Schroeder finished with 59 assists and 11 digs as the Flyers were held to a .198 team hitting percentage. Junior Adrienne Green added 22 digs to lead the Dayton defense.
