    Played in 115 games and started all 35 matches...Earned AVCA Regional All-America honors...Named to Atlantic 10 First Team...Elected A-10 Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after receiving MVP award at the Mortar Board Premier when the Flyers defeated No. 17 Purdue, Utah and North Carolina...Led the team in blocks with 1.19 per game...Was second in hitting percentage (.343) and third in kills per game (2.60)...One of five Flyers to tally at least 30 service aces on the year...Had double digits in kills in 14 matches, including a career-high 16 against Saint Louis on Sep. 21 and Western Michigan on Nov. 23...Also reached double digits in blocks against Miami on Nov. 24 with 11, accompanying her 15 kills in the match...Accumulated 10 kills and four blocks in the win over Purdue on Aug. 31...Recorded four service aces against Youngstown State on Nov. 3.

    Played in 33 games and 21 matches during her first collegiate season... Had her best match of the season against Missouri State with six blocks, three kills and her first ever service ace...Made her collegiate debut in the season opening win over Bradley...Her first kill as a Flyer came later that day against Eastern Illinois...Recorded her first collegiate block against #15 UC Santa Barbara...During the offseason, she was one of five Flyers to participate in open tryouts for the US National Volleyball Team in Colorado Springs, Colo... She traveled with Bringit Promotions' tour of Argentina in June.

    As a senior, Akerhielm was named a First Team All-State player for Carmel High School by the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association and the Indiana Coaches of Girls' Sports Association...She was an All-Conference pick named to the Indianapolis Star Super Team and was a member of the Indiana South All-Star Team...One of 14 players selected to the All-Tournament Team at the 2005 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic 18 Open Championships while leading Munciana Samurai to a second place finish.
