The University of Dayton women's track and field program has learned it has earned two academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Flyers were one of 75 schools named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor roll, while senior thrower Kelly Pohlman to the USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Track and Field Team as an individual.

The USTFCCCA honor was the latest of Pohlman's outstanding career. The six-time Atlantic 10 Shot Put Champion was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team and to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team. She graduated with a 3.79 GPA in Psychology, and was awarded an Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship, one of just four handed out by the conference.

The awards are based strictly on meeting performance standards in competition and in the classroom. Teams must have a combined grade point average of 3.0 or better, and individuals must carry a minimum 3.25 GPA and have met the NCAA qualifying standards in her event.

UD was the only school in the Atlantic 10 to have both a team and individual award. Richmond earned the team award, and Charlotte had three individuals recognized.

UD placed fourth at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship (the highest mark in the program's history) under first-year coach Kandice Erwin.
