University of Dayton junior shot putter Kelly Pohlman placed 28th at the NCAA Division I Mideast Regional Meet that was held at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex at the University of Indiana in Bloomington this weekend.

Pohlman's best throw of 43-04.5 was well behind the top nine marks that sent competitors on to the NCAA nationals. Every shot putter who reached 50 feet advanced. Pohlman's 28th-place finish matched her effort from last season's NCAA regional meet.

Pohlman has won the last two Atlantic 10 shot put titles. At this year's Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Pohlman placed first in the shot put, second in the discus and third in the hammer throw. She qualified in the shot for the regional meet.

Pohlman was also recently named to the A-10 All-Academic Track and Field team.
