The University of Dayton track and field team placed seventh out of 12 schools at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships during the weekend. The Flyers earned a total of 49.50 points finishing ahead of five teams at Irwin Belk Track in Charlotte, North Carolina as the team concluded the 2007 outdoor season. Sophomore Sydney Hubbard (11:31.04) recorded a new school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase placing sixth out of 17 as the 4x800 relay team (9:16.34) of Liz Forster, Angela Conlon, Bridget Conlon, and Kate Tejkl also posted a new record for Dayton.

Amy Kremer was also among those Flyers to record a new UD record as she finished third in the heptathlon earning a total of 4,516 points. Micailah Brock placed fifth with 4,166 points recording a personal best.

Candace McKinley recorded a career best and two season bests at the championship meet. She placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 124-07 for her career best and finished eighth in the long jump (17-01.50) and shot put (38-09.75) posting season bests in both events.

Freshman Molly McCarty threw a season best of 36-09.75 in the shot put and had strong showings in the hammer (130-02) placing eighth and the discus (115-08) finishing ninth.

Katie DeVault tied her career best and the current school record in the pole vault clearing 10-00.00 for fourth place.

In the jumps, Kremer (5-07.00) recorded a season best in the high jump placing second and Andrea Funk placed fifth to tie her best leap of the season at 5-03.00. Andrea Funk (35-07.25) and Tara Hentgen (35-02.50) placed 10th and 11th respectively in the triple jump.

In other relay action, Dayton's 4x100 relay team placed fifth in a time of 47.69 and the 4x400 relay team finished in 3:57.32 for a seventh place finish.

Briona Gresham ran 1:09.66 in the 400 meter hurdles and Andrea Cornell placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles in 14.84 as both Flyers bettered their season times in those events.

In the 1500 meter run, Dayton outdistanced 14 runners as Colleen Donovan (4:52.58). Tejkl (4:53.15), and Bridget Conlon (4:56.64) placed ninth, 10th and 13th respectively.

In other distance events, Jacqueline Jaworek lead UD in the 5000 meter run with her 19:32.16 time. Emily Deet (19:42.29) and Alex Miles (19:47.94) followed close behind, while Tejkl (2:23.98), Angela Conlon (2:25.61), and Bridget Conlon (2:26.08) posted strong times in the 800 meter run.

Lauren McCormick posted a time of 12:09 in the 100 meter dash, good for sixth place. In the 200 meter dash, McCormick placed 10th out of 20 in 25.99. Teammates Micella Davis (26.49) and Brittany Thomas (26.68) placed 13th and 15th in the same event.

Charlotte's women's team won the meet for the second consecutive year as the 49ers finished with a total of 195 points.
