DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton track and field team posted 18 Top 10 finishes at the Stan Lyons Invitational hosted by Butler University. Fourteen Flyers posted career bests at Michael A. Carroll Track & Field Stadium on Saturday.

In the 100 meter dash, McCormick (12.04), Micella Davis (12.82) and Lauren O'Brien (13.09) all recorded career bests, while Thomas (12.59) posted a season best in the event. McCormick (25.02) also posted a career best in the 200 meter while, Thomas (25.48) posted a season best time as the pair placed sixth and eighth respectively. Liz Forster finished ninth in the same event crossing the finish line at 25.62 for her career best.

Three Flyers posted their career bests in the 800 meter run and finished in the Top 15. Kate Tejkl (2:19.42) placed ninth, Angela Conlon came in at 13th (2:21.66), and Bridget Conlon placed 14th (2:21.85) outdistancing 25 runners.

Stacy Chew ran a time of 58.89 in the 400 meter dash, good for seventh place.

In distance events, Colleen Donovan posted a time of 4:53.52 in the 1500 meter run for a 13th place finish out of 40. Jacqueline Jaworek bettered her time in the 3000 meter finishing in 10:45.68 (10th place) for her career best. Sydney Hubbard recorded her fastest time in the 3000 meter steeplechase coming in at 11:40.81 missing the school record by two seconds.

In the hurdles, Andrea Cornell placed seventh in the 100 meter hurdles posting a season best with her time of 14.95.

Dayton's 4x100 meter relay (48.33) team placed second and the 4x400 meter relay (3:58.03) team finished fourth.

Megan Sweeney leapt to a new height of 5-07.00 in the high jump posting a career best, placing third overall in the event for the best jump of the season for a Flyer in the event. Micailah Brock posted a career best with her jump of 16-11.50 in the long jump and in the triple jump Tara Hentgen (36-07.75) placed sixth and Andrea Funk (36-07.50) placed seventh out of 17.

In the shot put, Candance McKinley tied her season best throwing 37-07.75. McKinley also posted her best throw of 124-10 in the Javelin for a 10th place finish. Amy Kremer finished close behind in 12th place with her throw of 104-09.50, also a career best.

Other Flyers that performed well during Saturday's meet include freshman Molly McCarty who threw a distance of 114-08 in the hammer for 25th place and threw 115-11.00 in the discus for a season best. Katie DeVault placed 13th in the pole vault (9-06.25).

The Flyers will return to action at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships on May 5. Dayton will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete in conference action in one of the team's last meets of the year.
