Cincinnati, OH - Although the UD track and field team posted its lowest team score of the season competing in the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, the Flyers tallied 16 top-ten finishes overall and received strong performances in both the 400 open and relay races.

The 4x400 relay squad helped UD to 6 of its 32.33 points by running a season-best time of 3:55.81, which was just three seconds off the school record.

In the open 400, freshman Ashley Cattran posted a season-best time of 56.08 to take third overall. Cattran was followed by juniors Stacy Chew (6th, 57.99) and Lisa Aubry (9th, 59.93).

The Flyers also had top-ten finishes in a handful of distance events.

Freshman Brigitte Sherman staked out a seventh place finish in the 1500 running across the line in 4:44.50, while sophomore Kristin Terry finished in the same position in the 10,000 meter run. Terry crossed in a season-best time of 39:17.66.

Freshmen Liz Coorey (17:55.26) and Maureen Bulgrin (18:05.06) finished back-to-back in seventh and eighth place in the 5,000 meter run for UD as well, each setting season-best times in the process.

In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, junior Sydney Hubbard claimed sixth overall in a time of 11:32.26. Hubbard was trailed by classmate Anne Oltman (11:36.48) and freshman Ellen Nienhaus (11:49.33).

Junior Andrea Cornell was the lone placer for the Flyers in the 100 meter hurdle event, grabbing tenth overall in a time of 15.23.

In the field events, the Flyers received points from both high jumpers. Freshman Lauryn Fougerousse leaped a season-best 5-05.00 to take seventh overall, while senior Megan Sweeney notched an 8th place finish (5-03.00).

Sophomore Andrea Funk was sixth in the triple jump (35-01.75). A fellow sophomore, Micailah Brock, hurled the javelin a season-best 114-09 to claim eighth overall.

With the spring season coming to a close, the team will now head to two meets next weekend before heading to Massachusetts for the Atlantic 10 Championships the following weekend. The Hillsdale Relays will be the first and will start on Friday, while the Stan Lyons Invitational will take place on Saturday. Both races will be all-day affairs.
