Final Stats

Conway, SC - The University of Dayton's women's track and field team competed in the Shamrock Invitational at Coastal Carolina University on April 17 and 18. The Flyers beat nine records and finished in the top five of their event five times.

Senior Kelly Pohlman led the Flyers, earning a NCAA Regional qualifying mark, a new career best, and second place in the shot put. She threw a distance of 48'1.75". Pohlman also achieved a career best in the hammer throw and finished in 11th place with a throw of 155'8". She came in sixth place in the discus with a 135'11".

Freshman Amy Kremer took second in the high jump with a height of 5'4.25". Andrea Cornell also earned a top five finish for her team, placing third in the 100m hurdles with a 15.63.

The 4x400 relay team, consisting of India Moss, Liz Forster, Tara Hentgen, and Stacy Chew, finished fourth with a time of 4:04.05.

The Flyers competed in some new events at Coastal Carolina. Anne Oltman broke a UD school record and came in seventh place in the steeplechase with a time of 11:52.32. Bridget Kuhel also competed in this event and earned a career best and 11th place with a time of 12:33. 64.

Dianne Striebel, Amanda Tucker, and Elizabeth Tucker each competed in the 10000m run and came in fourth, eighth, and ninth place, respectively.

Sophomore Connie Fleming competed in the javelin and finished in ninth place with a distance of 109'7".

Tara Hentgen (triple jump), Stacia Harold (200m and long jump), Megan Sweeney (high jump), and Emily Haas (5000m) each beat records in their events.

The Flyers are now preparing to compete in the UNLV Invitational, which takes place on April 1 in Las Vegas.
