TRACK & FIELD TAKES HOME SIX MEDALS AT FINDLAY INVITATIONAL

Findaly, OH - The track and field team came out of the Findlay Invitational Saturday with its second highest medal count of the season. The Flyers won one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals. Kelly Pohlman (Versailles, OH) pushed her total medal count to eight on the season, as she has finished in the top three in every event she has competed in this year. She won the shot put with a distance of 45-05.75. She finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 55-05.00, coming up just 0.75 short of first place. Stacia Harold (Urbana, IL) finished in third place in the 55m dash with a time of 7.32. Aftan Delaney (Bellbrook, OH) finished just 0.06 seconds behind her and in a tie for fourth place. Lindsey Brown finished with a time of 7.49, putting her in 12th place. In the 400m dash, Liz Forster (Reynoldsburg, OH) took home a bronze medal with a time of 1:00.33. Sarah Kessler (Reynoldsburg, OH) took home third place in the 1 mile run with a time of 5:18.91. Her teammate, Meg Watkins (Bel Air, MD), finished in eighth place with a time of 5:28.34. Michelle Griffin (Lancaster, OH) came in 10th place with a time of 5:31.67, followed by Emily Deet with a time of 5:33.66 in 11th place. In the high jump, Megan Sweeney finished with a height of 5-03, putting her in third place. The Flyers will travel to Akron this weekend for the Akron Open. |
