POHLMAN LEADS FLYERS AT BALL STATE OPEN

MUNCIE, IN-- - Junior Kelly Pohlman (Versailles, OH) lead the Flyers with two gold medals at the Ball State Open. She won the shot put (46-08) and the weight throw (52-07.5). Overall, UD came home with ten medals. Ball State dominated the event, winning gold in every event but the shot put and weight throw. Junior Stacia Harold (Urbana, IL) took home the silver in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.43. Senior Aftan Delaney (Bellbrook, OH) won bronze in the same event finishing 0.01 seconds behind Harold. In the 800 meter run, Junior Sarah Kessler (Reynoldsburg, OH) won the silver and finished with a time of 2:23.84. It was just 0.32 seconds out of first place. In the 4 x 400 meter relay, UD's team of sophomore Lindsey Brown (Clarksville, IN) sophomore Micella Davis (Helotes, TX) , Aftan Delaney and Elizabeth Forster (Reynoldsburg, OH) were quick enough to win the bronze medal with a time of 4:15.71. Sophomore Candace McKinley (Helotes, TX) won the bronze in the long jump for UD. She finished with a distance of 17-01.75. Next up for the Flyers is traveling to Champaign, IL, where they will compete against Central Collegiate on January 21 and 22. |
