MUNCIE, Ind. - The women's tennis team played a tough field at Ball State University's Fall Invitational in Muncie Indiana Oct. 1 and 2. Standing out for UD was sophomore Kara Metzger (Franksville, WI) with three wins over University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wright State University and IPFW in Flight B competition.

Flight A singles boasted freshman Allysa Detroy (Evansville, IN) winning over Tiffani Roster of Wright State University (2-6), (6-3), (9). Senior Courtney McDowell (Centerville, OH) followed suit with a win over Hanna Hager of IPFW (4-6), (6-4), (8). Sophomore Kate Mellion had a win in Flight B singles over Erin Felber of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in two sets (6-1), (6-2).

In doubles competition, Metzger and Detroy teamed up for a second round win over Northern Illinois' pair Doris Delgadillo and Daniela Martinez by a score of 8-5. Freshman Megan Gray (Akron, OH) and Kate Mellion also had a second round doubles win over Hanna Hager and Lisa Bartelheim of IPFW, 8-2.

The Flyers will play on October 9 and 10 at Miami University's Invitational in Oxford, OH.
