SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's tennis team opened the 2004-05 season this weekend at the Wittenberg Invitational. The format of the tournament was round robin, and top performer for the Flyers was senior Erin Kirkland (Dayton, OH).

Kirkland was 2-1 in three singles matches at #1 singles. She also teamed up with UD senior Courtney McDowell (Centerville, OH) to go 2-1 at #1 doubles.

Dayton's next action will be Saturday, September 25. The Flyers travel to Indianapolis to play matches with the University of Indianapolis and IUPUI.
