The University of Dayton's women's tennis squad wrapped up day two of the Queen City Invitational Tournament on Saturday.

Sophomore Sara Smith topped Bradley's Graf (6-1; 6-2) to advance to the Flight D Singles Consolation Finals, scheduled to take place on Sunday. Smith will face Cincinnati's Anna Nelke.

Representing the Flyers in Flight A Doubles, the junior duo Laina Grote and Kelly O'Connell defeated Ball State's Rist/Rodgriguez pair, 8-3.

Chelsea Glankler and Molly Mathews also brought home a win, beating Xavier's Handler and Maffey (8-3) in the Flight B Doubles Consolation Quarterfinal Round. In addition, the Flyers' Gray/Weeks match-up overcame Bradley's Graf/Scott.

Julie Kirkland grinded out a 7-5; 6-1 win over Ball State's Kylee Johnson to advance to the Flight A Singles Consolation Semi-finals round, but came up short in a grueling battle to Lindsay Lonergan (Cincinnati) 6-3; 3-6; 6-1.

Laina Grote also tallied a victory in Flight B Singles Consolation against Bradley's Buterbaugh (6-2; 6-1).

This invitational marks the end of the Flyers' fall season. Senior Molly Mathews and teammates will hit the courts again in spring as they take on A-10 rivals.
