MONROEVILLE, Pennsylvania - The Dayton women's tennis team could not pull off the upset over Saint Louis at Friday's opening round play of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships. The Billikens (seeded seventh) beat the #10 Flyers 4-0 to send UD to the backdraw bracket.

Sophomore Allysa Detroy and junior Kate Mellion teamed up at #1 doubles for an 8-4 victory over Katie Lozanova and Tara Grant. The Billikens rebounded to take the other two doubles matches, as well as wins at #2, #4, and #6 singles.

Dayton is scheduled to play again Saturday at 10:30 AM against the winner of this evening's Rhode Island vs. LaSalle match.
