Results

The Flyer women's tennis team swept the doubles point and won three singles matches at love en route to dominating No. 14 La Salle, 4-0, in the consolation bracket at the Atlantic 10 Championship in Monroeville, PA on Saturday morning. Eleventh-seeded Dayton will play one more match at the tournament, with the hopes of finishing as high as ninth place.

The Explorers only had five players on their roster, and were forced to forfeit No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Senior Megan Gray improved to 2-0 in singles this weekend by blanking Martha Kutteh at No. 3, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Nikki Dzubay also held her opponent scoreless in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 over Silverio.

Sophomore Molly Mathews got credit for the win at No. 6 singles for the Flyers (8-16).

In doubles, Gray teamed with senior Allysa Detroy for an 8-1 win over Rachael Barnhart and Lauren Perry at No. 1. Dzubay and freshman Kelly O'Connell shut out their opponents at No. 2, 8-0.

The Flyers will face No. 10 George Washington today at 3:30 at Club 4 Life. The winner will tie for ninth place overall.
