Results

The eleventh-seeded Dayton women's tennis team was defeated in first round action at the Atlantic 10 Championship by Rhode Island on Friday, 4-2. Senior Megan Gray tallied a singles win and the Flyers took the doubles point in the match.

UD will play a consolation match against No. 14 La Salle on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Monroeville, PA.

Gray posted a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Grace Hedstrom at No. 3 singles. The Flyers also recorded wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

Junior Nikki Dzubay paired with freshman Kelly O'Connell for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles. Freshman Laina Grote and sophomore Molly Mathews were also victorious at No. 3, 9-8 (5).
