Results

The women's tennis team split two matches over the weekend in Atlantic 10 competition. The Flyers defeated St. Bonaventure 6-1 on Saturday in Olean, NY before falling to Xavier at Dayton Center Courts on Sunday, 7-0. Dayton concluded the regular season at 6-17 overall.

The Flyers opened the weekend in cruise control against the Bonnies. Dayton took five singles matches and captured the doubles point en route to the victory.

Senior Kate Mellion topped the line-up for UD with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #1 singles over Yolande Callaghan. In doubles, Mellion paired with junior Allysa Detroy at #1 doubles for an 8-6 victory.

Sophomore Nikki Dzubay became the second Flyer of the spring to reach 10 singles wins by tallying a 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(6) victory at #3 over Stephanie Fosnight.

Megan Gray, Erin Wilkie, and Mackenzie Hoops rounded out the singles scoring with straight-sets victories at #4, #5 and #6.

On Sunday, Dayton struggled to post back-to-back wins, suffering a sweep at the hands of Xavier.

The Flyers will begin play in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Friday, April 20 in Monroeville, PA, where Dayton finished tenth in 2006. The draws will be released this week.
