TAMPA, FL - The University of Dayton women's tennis team swept doubles' play Monday at the University of Tampa, but rain washed away singles play. On Wednesday, the Flyers completed the 6-3 win by splitting singles matches.

Dayton's Allysa Detroy earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Lindsay Pine, and Megan Gray took down Caitlin Scutter, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6). Tampa received a victory from Paula Fillion, 6-4, 6-4, over Courtney McDowell. UT's Sarah Belaidi won a 6-7 (5), 6-2, 1-0 (5) battle over Kate Mellion. Heather Eli swept Katie Cabanski, 6-0, 6-0. But the Flyers drew a split as Erin Kirkland led 1-0 when Lindsey McLendon was forced to retire. The split, coupled with Monday's 3-0 victory in doubles-play gave the Flyers their sixth-straight match, 6-3.

After the start time was pushed back Monday, the Flyers opened with an 8-1 win by the pairing of Erin Kirkland and Courtney McDowell over UT's Lindsay Pine and Sarah Belaidi. Dayton's Kara Metzger and Allysa Detroy downed Paula Fillion and Heather Ely, 8-6. And Kate Mellion and Megan Gray gave UD the sweep with an 9-7 win over Tampa's Caitlin Scudder and Katherine McCabe.
