HILTON HEAD, SC - The women's tennis team defeated the Bucknell Bison, 5-2, Tuesday for its second win in as many tries on the day. The Flyers are now halfway through their four-match stand in Hilton Head, SC during spring break, having won their first two contests.

Senior Kate Mellion and junior Allysa Detroy held serve atop the UD lineup. Mellion cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 defeat of Paulina Gamboa at #1 singles, while Detroy also tallied a straight sets win at #2, topping Carlin Calcaterra 6-4, 6-1.

Sophomore Nikki Dzubay recorded a 6-1, 6-3 victory at #4, while classmate Mackenzie Hoops held off JoAnna Grossman, 7-5, 7-5, at #5 for her first win of the spring season.

At #6, freshman Maggie Ernst improved to 3-1 with a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0(8) victory against Renee Waissand.

In doubles, junior Megan Gray teammed with Ernst at #3 for UD's lone win.

Detroy, Mellion and Ernst each won both of their singles matches on the day, following victories against the Tiffin Dragons this morning.

Dayton is back in action Wednesday against Colorado State in Hilton Head.
