Results

The UD women's tennis team triumphed over St. Bonaventure on Saturday, March 12 in Olean, New York. The Flyers trounced the Bonnies with a 7-0 sweep.

The Flyers soared in singles and doubles play. Senior Erin Kirkland (Dayton, OH) started off the singles matches with a win over Anna Perevenzentseva 6-1, 6-0. Fellow senior Courtney McDowell (Centerville, OH) scored a victory against Ana Delgado 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Allysa Detroy (Evansville, IN) flew over Stephanie Fosnight 6-1, 6-4. Sophomore Kate Mellion (Clinton, OH) defeated Jasmine Jaysingh 2-6, 6-3 (10-6). Sophomore Kara Metzger (Franksville, WI) snatched a victory over Sarah Costello 6-1, 6-0.

The team continued to play strong in doubles matches. Kirkland and McDowell defeated Perevenzentseva and Delgado 8-2. Metzger and Detroy served an ace against Fosnight and Jaysingh 8-0.

The final match score was Dayton 7, St. Bonaventure 0.

The UD women's tennis team will resume play on Wednesday, March 16 against Bowling Green at 3:00 p.m. in Bowling Green, Ohio.
