Results

A strong showing by Dayton senior Kate Mellion at #1 singles was not enough as the Flyers women's tennis team fell to Big Ten powerhouse Michigan State 6-1 at Dayton Center Courts on Saturday afternoon.

Mellion gutted out a three-set struggle by eventually defeating MSU's Christine Bader 7-5, 3-6, 1-0(8). It was Mellion's third win of the season at #1 singles.

Freshman Erin Wilkie also took her opponent to a third set at #6 singles, but dropped the match 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(5).

Dayton (1-11) returns to action on Tuesday, March 6 to host UNC-Wilmington at Dayton Center Courts at 3 p.m.
