Results

The UD women's tennis team defeated the Detroit Titans 5-2 this past Sunday, February 20.

The team earned their points by winning 5 of the 6 matches in singles. Senior Erin Kirkland (Dayton, OH) started the streak by defeating Bianca Savarino 6-0, 6-1. Number three singles freshman Allysa Detroy (Evansville, IN) snatched a victory over Andrea Buter 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Kate Mellion (Clinton, OH) defeated Ashley Cummins 6-1, 6-2. Sophomore Kara Metzger (Franksville, WI) swept Amy Inman 6-0. 6-0. To finish the strong Dayton performance, freshman Megan Gray (Akron, OH) defeated Kaitlin McVehil 6-2, 6-0.

Though the Flyers did not win overall doubles, Kirkland and senior Courtney McDowell (Centerville, OH) teamed up to defeat Buter and Cummins 8-3.

The women's tennis team has a break before resuming play at home against Akron on Friday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m.
