The Flyers defeated IPFW, 6-1, on Sunday to wrap up their weekend road trip to Fort Wayne, IN. Dayton finished the weekend 2-1 in Fort Wayne, led by freshman Laina Grote who capped off a perfect weekend with a pair of wins against IPFW. The Flyers are now 3-5 on the season, and have won three of their last four matches.

Dayton opened Sunday's match by winning two doubles contests to grab an early 1-0 lead. Seniors Allysa Detroy and Megan Gray paired up at No. 1 for an 8-4 defeat of Ashley Coulson and Stacy Lish. At No. 3, the tandem of sophomore Molly Mathews and Grote cruised to an 8-0 victory over Alexa Rang and Carpenter.

In singles, Grote led the way with a 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles over Coulson. For the weekend, Grote finished 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles. She improved her spring singles record to a team-best 6-2.

Gray held serve at No. 3 singles for a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lish. She joined Grote as the only Flyers to go 3-0 in singles matches this weekend.

Freshman Chelsea Glankler, junior Nikki Dzubay and Mathews rounded out the scoring with wins at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles.

Dayton returns home next weekend for a match against Cleveland State on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. ET at Dayton Center Courts.
