Sophomore Kara Metzger helped lead Flyers to victory

Results

The UD women's tennis triumphed over the University of Evansville on Sunday, February 6. The Flyers defeated the Aces 5 to 2.

The team's younger members clenched the victory for the Flyers. In singles, freshman Allysa Detroy (Evansville, IN) returned home to defeat Erica Baas 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Kate Mellion (Franksville, WI) grabbed a win against Emily Krodel 0-6, 6-1, 6-1. Fellow sophomore Kara Metzger (Clinton, OH) scored a win in singles by defeating Jamie Petty 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles, Detroy teamed up with Metzger to defeat Baas and Krodel 8-5.

The final match score was Dayton 5, Evansville 2. The Flyers current record is 2-2.

The women's tennis team has a busy weekend coming up. The Flyers face Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb on Friday, February 11 in Richmond, KY. The team continues play against Lipscomb on Saturday, February 12.
