Youngstown, OH - The Flyers women's tennis team grasped the doubles point but failed to record a victory in any of the six singles matches as Dayton lost to Youngstown State 6-1 on Saturday. The match marked the third time this spring that the Flyers were held scoreless in singles matches. UD is currently 1-3 on its six match road trip and 2-4 overall.

Sophomore Allysa Detroy and junior Kate Mellion captured their second doubles win of the season at #1 by defeating Allison Day and Gina Peretti 8-5. Freshman Nikki Dzubay and sophomore Megan Gray also held on for an 8-5 win at #2 doubles to give the Flyers the doubles point and put UD on the scoreboard.

In singles, the top of the Dayton roster held tough but fell short. Detroy's match at #1 singles went the distance before Whitney Thomas of YSU pulled out a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win. Mellion took the second set to send her #2 singles match into a decisive third set, but Peretti pulled away in the third with a 6-1 victory. The bottom of Youngstown State's lineup dominated the Flyers, beating UD in straight sets in each of the four remaining singles matches.

Dayton travels to Richmond, KY for a double-header with Eastern Kentucky and Belmont beginning at 11:00 AM Friday.
