The Dayton women's tennis team pulled out a win in hard-fought match over the Cleveland State Vikings Saturday at Five Seasons in Dayton Saturday. Despite being swept in the doubles matches, the Flyers managed to squeek by the Vikes 4-3 by dropping just two singles matches. The win bumped Dayton's spring record to 1-1.

Junior Kate Mellion went three sets with Abby Showalter at #2 singles before pulling out a 7-5, 1-6, 6-1 win to lead the way. Freshman Carrie Trigilio followed in Mellion's footsteps by winning in three sets over Lindsey Sellers. Sophomore Megan Gray was victorious at #4 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2, and freshman Andrea Muresan's 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Kristin Chamberlain gave the Flyers the four points needed to clinch a team victory.

UD will now be on the road for its next six matches, starting the road trip in Muncie, IN to take on Ball State Saturday, January 28.
