MUNCIE, Indiana - The Dayton women's tennis team ran into a solid Ball State squad on Saturday in a 6-1 loss in Muncie, IN. Freshman Laina Grote posted the lone victory for UD as she tallied her first collegiate win. The Flyers are now 0-2 this spring.

After playing No. 3 singles in last week's spring opener, Grote was bumped up to No. 2 singles for Saturday's match. She held off Ball State's Haly Calderwood in a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4 (10-6) victory.

For the second consecutive match, Dayton was swept on the doubles courts.

The Flyers are back in action on Sunday, January 27 in Oxford, OH against the Miami RedHawks. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
