WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team split its two games at the Miami Valley Sports Foundation Fall Classic. The Flyers downed Northern Kentucky, 1-0 and fell to the tournament champs, Lincoln Memorial, 4-0.

In the first game against NKU, junior Anne Maci, Dayton's No. 3 hitter, provided the only offense with a solo shot in the first inning. Junior pitcher Eva Rappe threw a one-hit shutout for the Flyers.

In its second game, UD suffered a 4-0 setback to Lincoln Memorial. Both squads had five hits, but Dayton's were scattered across seven innings, while Lincoln capitalized on timely knocks.

The Flyers will play a doubleheader at Miami (Ohio) this Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
