The UD softball team committed three errors in the fifth inning, handing Morehead State a 6-2 win in game one. Melissa Myher gave up just two earned runs, striking out seven and walking none.

The Flyers are now 12-22 on the year,

Myher breezed through the first four innings, allowing just two hits.

Ashley Hubbell matched Myher, allowing two hits through the first four innings, although MSU started Kari Quinn, who pitched two two batters. The second batter, Shalyn Adams, lined a pitch up the middle off her forearm and Quinn left the game.

Morehead State opened the fifth with a single and back-to-back one-out errors loaded the bases. Krystle Coleman delivered a two-run double, and Hubbell added a two-run single for a 4-0 lead, all runs unearned.

The Eagles added another pair in the sixth, as Becky King hit an RBI double to left center and later scored on a wild pitch.

The Flyers picked up a run in the sixth on Tami Roudebush's home run to left center. Her second of the year led off the inning. Blair Crabtree added a one-out single, and after a hit by pitch, a single from Lauren Schneider loaded the bases. But Hubbell induced a ground ball fielder's choice, forcing the runner at the plate and another groundout to strand the bases loaded.

In the bottom of the seventh, Christine Eggers singled down the right field line, and Roudebush was hit by pitch; A ground out moved the runners up and Shalyn Adams scored on a wild pitch. But again, Hubbell got an inning-ending ground out.

Game two gets underway at 4:53 p.m.
