April 9, 2005
ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - The Dayton softball team fell in game two at St. Bonaventure Saturday, 5-1, as the Bonnies complete the sweep of the Atlantic 10 doubleheader. Tamsyn Kellough had an RBI double for the Flyers, who fall to 11-12-1 overall and 2-4 in the A-10. The Bonnies got on the board first in the second inning with a two-run double to right by Caitlin Grattan that chased starting pitcher Melissa Myher. Dayton answered in the third with a walk by Christine Eggers and Kellough's double to center field. But in the bottom of the inning, St. Bonaventure's Lauren Krieger hit an RBI triple and the Bonnies tacked on two more in the fourth with back-to-back singles and a UD miscue in the field. Myher took the loss, falling to 8-5 on the season, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out one. Christine Keleher picked up the win for St. Bona, allowing four hits and one earned while walking three. Eggers was one-for-three with a run scored, while Laura Matthews was one-for-three. Ellie Malchow was one-for-two. Earlier in the day, the Flyers fell 2-1 as Keleher allowed just two hits. The Flyers face Morehead State in Kentucky on Tuesday in a non-conference doubleheader.
