Dayton, OH - The University of Dayton softball team completed its first sweep of the season it beat Rhode Island, 3-2, in the second game of an Atlantic 10 doubleheader. The win brings UD to 9-10-1 and 2-2 in the A-10.

Cassie Gross led the Flyer offense, going three-for-three in the game with two singles and an intentional walk.

Dayton started off the second game the same way they did in the first game. Tamsyn Kellough walked and stole second before Gross singled down the left field line to put the Flyers up 1-0.

The Flyers scored another run in the fourth off of a single by Anne Crecelius, as pinch-runner Angel Conaway crossed the plate to put UD up 2-0.

Rhode Island came back to tie the game at in the top of the seventh as Harrelson doubled home a pair of runs.

In the Flyers' last at bat Christine Eggers, who was two-for-four, singled through the right side. St. Clair worked a walk, and URI walked Gross intentionally to load the bases. Tami Roudebush came through with the game-wining single to left center to score Eggers with the winning run.

Dayton will head to IUPUI Tuesday to take on the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m.
