Ali Brian was named as an Assistant Coach of the Flyers in August 2004. Before coming to UD Brian spent three years as head coach at Notre Dame College, where she was the 2004 American Mideast Conference North Division Coach of the Year.

"Ali is an excellent addition to our softball program," said UD Head Coach Jodi Eickemeyer. "She brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as undeniable enthusiasm. She works with the defense as well as instructs the hitters."

Brian led Notre Dame College for four seasons, setting the school record for wins twice in 2002 and 2004. In 2004, the Falcons competed in the American Mideast Conference playoffs for the first time.

Prior to returning to Notre Dame College to coach her alma mater, she served as head coach of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for one season, leading the Pointers to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a 25-13 record. The Pointers finished the season ranked No. 22 in the country and made the Division III National Playoffs.

As a player, she was a catcher and captain for the Notre Dame College Falcons. She was an All-American Mideast Conference selection as a senior and a two-time NAIA Academic All-American pick. She graduated from NDC in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing.

Brian also boasts experience at the club level with the Ohio Emeralds Softball Organization as assistant coach from 1999-2003.
