New York, NY - Freshman midfielder Mandi Bäck and junior defender Kristen Persichini were selected by Soccer Buzz magazine as members of the All Great Lakes Regional team for their performance during the 2006 women's soccer season. Bäck was named to the All Regional Freshman team, while Persichini made the All Regional Third Team.

Bäck, from North Olmsted, Ohio, led the Flyers in almost all statistical categories including goals (seven), points (16), shots (55), and tied for the lead in game-winners (2). The midfielder ended the season number nine on the all-time top freshman point totals list for the Flyers. Bäck was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, All Rookie Team, and All Tournament team this season.

Persichini, a junior from Hudson, Ohio, started and played every minute of all 18 of the Flyers' games this year. She anchored a defense that gave up only 23 goals in 17 games and recorded five shut-outs on the year. She scored three goals on only 13 shots with eight of those being on goal. Persichini was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team for the 2006 season.

Fifty-five schools comprising the Great Lakes Region were eligible. Buzz awards were based on a nomination process open to all Division I coaches and balloting results of a voting panel of selected Division I head coaches and Soccer Buzz staff.
