SEDLACEK NAMED COSIDA SECOND TEAM ALL-DISTRICT

Nov. 4, 2004

Junior forward Reba Sedlacek (Hamilton, OH) added to a week filled with awards as she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Second Team on Thursday.

Sedlacek was tabbed as the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year on Wednesday. She is part of a Flyer team that holds the longest current winning streak in the nation at 18 matches. Sedlacek finished as the Flyers' leading scorer for the second straight year with 13 goals and six assist for 32 points. The junior was UD's go-to player all season and it paid off as she posted a conference-leading five game-winning goals. All the statistics were career highs for the 5-foot-10 Sedlacek, who collected game-winning goals against Cincinnati, LSU, Xavier, Duquesne and Fordham. A second-team all-league player last season, Sedlacek now has 26 goals and 16 assists, including eight game-winners, in her three-year career.

A communication management major, Sedlacek holds a 3.921 GPA and has been named to the A-10 All-Academic Team each of the past two seasons. Last year, she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Third Team. She is the daughter of John and Anne Sedlacek.

Sedlacek and the Flyers will begin play at the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship Friday in semifinal action against Saint Joseph's. The game will begin at 11 a.m. in Amherst, Mass.
