Philadelphia, PA - For the second time this season, a Dayton Flyer freshman has been named Co-Rookie of the Week for women's soccer. Midfielder Mandi Bäck, a graduate of North Olmsted High School, received the honor on Monday in recognition of her nine points (4 g, 1 a) over the past weekend, including the game-winning goal against Richmond on Friday.

Bäck has been a solid contributor for the Flyers during the entire season. She currently leads the team in goals (seven), points (15) and shots (52). The freshman is tied for the total number of game-winners on the season (two) with another freshman and previous Rookie of the Week, forward Caitlin Proffitt. Bäck leads a trio of freshmen, including Proffitt and midfielder Colleen Gibson, who account for 41% (13 g, 4 a) of the total offensive production of the Flyers.

The freshman and her Flyer teammates head to St. Louis on Thursday to open the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. Dayton earned the sixth seed and will face the third seed, Rhode Island Rams, in the opening game of the tournament. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. EST at Robert R. Hermann Stadium on the campus of St. Louis University. In their only meeting this season, the Flyers beat the Rams 2-0.
