The Flyers will host a pair of Atlantic 10 clashes this weekend when they take on St. Bonaventure this Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Duquesne on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m.. Both games will be held at Baujan Field. Friday night, Dayton will promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink UD warm-ups that have the cancer awareness ribbon represented as the "A" in Dayton. A limited number of "Pink Scare" shirts will also be distributed to fans, along with pink Thundersticks. In addition, UD sophomore Krystal Byrne will serve as honorary captain. She recently returned to Dayton after more than three years of battling leukemia. The Ottoville, Ohio native used the University of Dayton as an inspiration to fight back, along with the support from her family, friends and community.

FLYER NOTES
• Dayton is 9-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in A-10 heading into the weekend. The Flyers have an RPI of 34, higher than any other Atlantic 10 team. UD is 3-2 at Baujan Field this season, with its only losses at home coming against No. 9 nationally-ranked Duke (No. 11 at the time Dayton played them) and Rutgers, which is now ranked No. 21 in the NSCAA/adidas poll.
• The Flyers continue to lead the Atlantic 10 in shots (247) and are third in the conference for goals scored (23).
• Junior Mandi Bäck is second in the A-10 in shots, firing off 47 for 3.36 shots per game. She leads UD with five goals (tied for 8th in the A-10), and 12 points. Sophomore Jerica DeWolfe is eighth in the A-10 in shots with 36.
• Junior Colleen Gibson is ranked third the A-10 in assists per game. She has five on the season for 0.50 per game.
• Seven different players have scored game-winning goals for the Flyers, including senior Amanda Gallow and sophomore Kelly Blumenschein who are tied for fifth in the A-10 with two game-winning scores.
• Eleven different players have scored goals for the Flyers this season and five different players have scored multiple goals. Nine players have dished out assists, with six players having multiple assists.
• The UD defense is allowing 1.00 goals per game, which ranks them fourth in the A-10. Dayton is the only team to have two goalkeepers in the A-10's Top 10 for goals against average and save percentage. Senior Deana Waintraub is fifth in the A-10 and boasts a 0.90 GAA, while sophomore Lisa Rodgers is seventh at 1.06 GAA. Rodgers is eighth in the conference with a .786 save percentage and Waintraub is 10th with a .765 save percentage.Waintraub is ranked 81st in the NCAA statistical leaders for goals against average (.90). The Flyers are 7-1-1 when she is in goal this season.
• The Flyers have played in four overtime matches this season and are 2-1-1 in those games.
• UD boasts the best home attendance average of any Atlantic 10 school. Dayton is averaging 715 fans a game at Baujan Field. The next closest is Charlotte with 583 fans per home game. UD's game against Indiana (Aug. 22) drew 1,213 fans, the seventh best all-time attendance mark in Dayton women's soccer history.

SERIES INFORMATION
• The Flyers own a 10-0-2 lead in the series against the Bonnies. The last meeting was a 0-0 double overtime tie on Oct. 14 at SBU.
• Dayton is 11-1-0 all-time against the Dukes. The Flyers came away with a 2-1 double overtime tie in the last meeting in Pittsburgh on Oct. 12, 2007.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
ST. BONAVENTURE

• The Bonnies are 8-6-0 overall and own a 3-3-0 mark in the Atlantic 10. St. Bonaventure lost its first three conference games but has bounced back and is on a three-game winning streak with victories over LaSalle, George Washington and most recently, a 2-1 overtime win against Richmond.
• SBU has no seniors and just two juniors on its squad. There are 18 sophomores and freshmen on the team.
• Seven different Bonnies have scored goals, with five scoring multiple goals this season, while nine different SBU players have tallied assists. Sophomore Anna Cunningham leads SBU in scoring with 8 goals, including three game-winning scores, and 6 assists for 22 points. Her 22 points and eight goals are third best in the A-10. Sophomore Courtney Bosse has scored five goals and has two assists.
• The Bonnies have been slightly outscored by opponents, 25-24, yet they are second in the A-10 in points per game (4.79) and goals (24).
• Sophomore Nicole Markert has three shutouts to her credit this season and owns a 1.75 goals against average. Her 70 saves, ranks her third in the A-10.
• SBU and Dayton both suffered one-goal losses to UMass. The Flyers fell 1-0 (Oct. 12) and St. Bonaventure lost 2-1 in double overtime in its A-10 opener.
Manoj Khettry is in his third season as head coach at SBU and has a 15-33-3 record at St. Bonaventure. Prior to taking over the Bonnies program, Khettry was the top assistant at the University of Dayton for three seasons from 2003-2005.

DUQUESNE
• The Dukes are 5-4-3 overall and 3-2-1 in Atlantic 10 play going into this weekend. They face Xavier on Friday, before facing off with Dayton Sunday. They are coming off a 4-0 loss to George Washington. Prior to that Duquesne was on a four-game unbeaten streak with wins against Richmond, Fordham and Rhode Island, and a tie against La Salle.
• Duquesne is 2-2-3 when playing on the road, including a 3-0 loss to Wright State on Sept. 21 and a 1-0 loss to Saint Louis to open conference play on Sept. 26.
• Duquesne has had 10 players score at least one goal this season. Junior Annie Reid, a native of Cincinnati, leads the Dukes with four scores and senior Shannon Rengers is the leader in assists with three.
• Sophomore Gabby Morrin owns a 0.85 goals against average, which is third in the A-10, and has posted 29 saves in 10 matches this season. Her .829 save percentage is second in the conference.
• Tim Zundel, now in his second season as head coach of the Dukes, has a 16-11-3 overall record

LOOKING AHEAD
The Flyers play A-10 two games on the road next weekend. They will take on Charlotte on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and Saint Louis on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.

LAST WEEK RECAP
Dayton split the final two games of its four-game Atlantic 10 road swing. The Flyers edged Rhode Island, 2-1, on Friday night and dropped a 1-0 decision against UMass Sunday. Senior Amanda Gallow delivered the game-winning goal UD's 2-1 win over the Rams. Sophomore Kelly Blumenschein scored the other goal on an assist from junior Caitlin Proffitt. Senior Deana Waintraub tied a career high with seven saves. The Flyers lost their first conference game in the match against the Minutewomen. It's the first time UMass has beaten the Flyers in 10 years.

TERRIFIC TUCKER
Head Coach Mike Tucker's Flyer squads are 106-21-8 in A-10 play. He is the only active coach in the A-10 to achieve more than 100 women's soccer A-10 wins. UD has won seven of the 13 conference regular season titles. In addition, his teams have won the A-10 Tournament Championship five times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004).
